La Catrina String Quartet

This dynamic group from Mexico brings audiences new music of today’s living composers, the unique sounds of Mexican and Latin cultures while performing the giants of the string quartet literature.

La Catrina String Quartet’s high standards of professionalism are evidenced by their extensive experience performing with such ensembles as the Symphony Orchestra of Minería, (one of Mexico’s finest orchestras), and as soloists with a variety of orchestras around the world.

As semifinalists in the 2005 international Joseph Joachim Chamber Music Competition La Catrina was invited to participate in the third International Joseph Haydn Chamber Music Competition, which will take place in April 2007, at the Joseph Haydn Institute in Vienna, Austria.
