Time Management

Unlike a traditional class, an online course is a continual process of participating in electronic class discussions, reading assignments, checking e-mail, doing research on the Internet, and other activities. You will be required to log into your course several times a week to keep up with discussions and to check for messages from the instructor. The hours you spend a week on the computer could range from a few hours to several depending on the course and how many classes you take.

  • If you have a busy work and home life, would you have the time to log into your course and spend several hours a week working on assignments?
  • Would you have the time or be able to log into your course from work?
  • Would you have time at home when the kids are at school or sleeping?
  • Do you have to compete with others to use the computer at home?
