SBDC Presents Seminar on Growing Established Businesses

Posted Apr. 18, 2013

The Ohio Small Business Development Center at Kent State University at Stark* has developed a new orientation session for owners of businesses that have been operating for a year or more. Orientation II: Making Small Business Decisions Easier will be held on Tuesday, May 21, 2013, from 5 to 7 p.m., at The University Center at Kent State Stark, 6000 Frank Avenue NW in Jackson Township.

Making Small Business Decisions Easier addresses business metrics which are necessary to grow your business, including marketing mix, pricing, working capital, breakeven point and cash flow. It emphasizes the need for long-term business and succession plans, while instructing participants on how to create a supporting short-term plan. The supporting plan contains measurable standards which force discipline into the decision-making process. This seminar is presented in a form which can be adapted to every business.

After attending the program, participants may contact the Small Business Development Center to schedule an appointment with a business counselor for a no-cost, one-on-one consultation.

There is a $20 fee per person for program materials. Registration and payment for the information session must be made online at www.cantonsbdc.org. Click on SBO II-MSBDE to register. For additional information, contact the SBDC at 330-244-3290 or info@cantonsbdc.org. Register early, as this session will close one week prior to the event or when the session is full.
