Posted Dec. 3, 2012

Research Assistants Adam B Cinderich and Andrea Blanka Szell traveled to Colorado Springs, CO to conduct a recovery survey of the area impacted by the Waldo Canyon Wildfire using spatial video units.  This preliminary data collection was part of a new project, recently funded by the Natural Hazards Center Quick Response Grant Program of the University of Colorado - Boulder under Principal Investigator Dr. Jacqueline (Mills) Curtis.

While in Colorado Springs, Adam and Andrea successfully collected spatial video for the entire burn area and met with the Director of Emergency Management for the city of Colorado Springs and the President/Chairman of Colorado Springs Together, a nonprofit organization created to facilitate the rebuilding and restoration process for communities affected by the wildfires).  To view more information and read the story recently published in The Gazette (Colorado Springs Newspaper) click here.
