Joe Zingaro shows off some of glass cutting talents
Faculty Feature – Glass Joe

What do some faculty members do for a hobby or relaxation? Joe Zingaro, KSU at Ashtabula English Lecturer, handles expensive pieces of colored glass, welds and melds them into artistic shapes and no longer wants to hide them in his basement.

Some of his handiwork can be seen until Spring Break (March 18) in the Ashtabula Campus Library.

Zingaro said his wife's parents took up the hobby in their retirement. Now, Zingaro's wife, Debbie, creates the original art that Joe then forms into beautiful creations.

The display is just for show. However, Joe and his wife do sell their wares through Baker Hart Studios. You can also see one of his pieces at the Harbor Perk in the Historic Ashtabula Harbor. It serves as the open sign.
