Sarah Rutherford, 2012 graduate of the Master of Fine Arts in the School of Visual Communication Design at Kent State University, has been appointed the Creative Director of Glyphix Design studio in downtown Kent, Ohio, starting in August 2013.
“I'm very glad to be joining the VCD department in this capacity.” Rutherford said. “I look forward to working with the students, connecting them with the professional design community, and building on the strong foundation of excellence associated with Glyphix.”
A Missouri native, Rutherford earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Visual Communications and a Bachelor of Arts in English from Truman State University in 2006, and worked professionally as a designer for the National Parks Conservation Association for three years before starting her MFA. Her thesis focused on business environmental design, consumer visual literacy and self-concept.
